Bonjour!

I've been saying for years that I will start a blog, and this year is the year. I'll be honest, I have no idea what I'm doing, but experience is the best teacher, so here I go. For now, I just want to put something out there, to have started. As the saying goes, a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.

What will this blog be about? I'm not sure. I have some inklings, but it would be absurd to assume that I'd have the complete identity of this space all figured out already. I know I will be talking about world language education. I'll be sharing my thoughts on best practices, lesson ideas, probably more than a few of my own spectacular failures (as they happen!), and new trends in the field. I know I will be talking about global education. I'll be sharing ideas for how to make classrooms more globally-focused, regardless of subject area. I'll be presenting new developments in the field of global education, and sharing international learning opportunities for educators and their students alike. I know I will be talking about the value of travel in learning. The world is vast and the learning opportunities inherent in culturally-authentic travel are prodigious. I know I will be talking about education policy and educational philosophies in general. I'll be sharing perspectives on compassionate classrooms, standardized testing, experiential learning, interdisciplinary learning, play-based learning, the importance of physical activity and risk, and much much more.

Finally, I'm quite certain I will also be asking for a lot of ideas, suggestions, and help along the way. We are stronger together.

I look forward to learning with you.
